Top 100 Most Pirated Movies of 2019

Piracy will never be eradicated, it will always be present. Torrent is an addiction, especially when it comes to movies and series. As you’re probably aware, we are following/tracking the weekly list of most pirated movies and although we don’t always understand the people choices or agree with them, we’re going to share the data we have for most pirated movies of 2019.

According to new study conducted by U.S. Chamber of commerce, the piracy costs U.S. Economy at least $29.2 billion in lost revenue each year.

This list involves the “most pirated movies of 2019”, the ones that stayed in the top 10 list the longest. Points were added based on the rank/position in the weekly list. First on the list received 10 points, second 9 points, etc. with the last one receiving 1 point.

Top 10 “Best” Pirated Movies of 2019 (IMDb)

Our short comments

This is a rare opportunity to comment Hollywood and movies in general, so we’ll use it. We’ll start with the IMDb votes. Not sure what the Hollywood is trying to do in recent times, turning things upside down. Making all bad characters good, playing with our emotions, forcing self-examination.

Maleficent

Just for the sake of an example, Maleficent was an evil fairy plain and clear. Nowadays she turned a new leaf, being all cute and nice. The Hollywood has now turned things around saying that she’s the one who was abused first, cutting her wings, betraying her trust. Poor thing…

Joker

We’re seeing the same thing with the Joker. It’s ok, but just that, at most. We guess the Hollywood and critics tend to be biased, rating it like this. Story had a twist, somewhat unexpected turn of events, but in general, the main focus is how fckdup the society is and how one even more fckdup individual deals with it. We should probably deduce that the Joker character is not as bad as it was portrayed before in the Batman movies. S***, I do like twists and bad guys occasionally “winning”, but this is a bit too much.

Avangers

Avengers,..meh. It’s hard to be realistic here. We’re almost sick with all the Marvel movies, rotations, variations, etc. A classical type of movies to “spend some time”. Marvel’s doing a great job when it comes to keeping an attention with an audience. The appeal is understandable, high-quality animations/effects, a lot of action, a lot of explosions and fancy powers with mediocre story line. In case you’re a fan, this is just our humble opinion 🙂

Spider-Man: Into the spider-verse, Lighthouse & JoJo Rabbit

We missed the Spider-Man: Into the spider-verse, Lighthouse and JoJo Rabbit, but based on a general impression, we’ll share some thoughts. Spider-Man spider-verse trip looks “new”. The Lighthouse doesn’t look like our cup of tea, especially with “sparkly Edward”. That guy ruins whatever he touches. Dafoe, hmmm. Yes, he had a great career, but the guy is not a right fit anywhere and besides a couple of movies, we could say with almost complete certainty that he “underperformes” by default. With exclusion of “Animal Factory”. He did fit there almost perfectly. In any case, whenever hollywood visits human “sanity” & behaviour, it usually fails big time. By default they’re placing the writting/scripting part in some idiot’s hands, ruining everything and writting a behaviour that’s highly fckdup and irrational. We know, “it’s a movie”, “it’s human nature”, “that’s art” or “you don’t know how someone would react in such situations”. We know that that someone wouldn’t react as reatarded as that script guy would. Drama, art, yeah, right. We would suggest you to check some good ones like “Hidden” and “Room“, and avoid two guys going insane on the island.

Klaus

Klaus is the art, ideal for children. Story line is great, animation on the level with the right amount of emotional scenes.

The Irishman

The Irishman, aside from “good” team of actors, we can’t say anything good. They under-performed, well maybe not as actors but overall. In general, whatever Neflix makes, it turnes to s***, not sure why. They rarely manage to make a movie that can be deemed as good/great.

Green Book

Green book is good and moreover we could recommend it. Drama, human behaviour & nature, presenting tough times the right way. Right amount of everything.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody. Damn. There’s something wrong with Rami, like in general 😀 . We like the guy, but he’s trippy, like in every movie we’ve seen. He did the part pretty good, but we’re not sure if the movie script is as good as it should’ve been.

The Favorite

We didn’t watch The Favorite, but with a quick look, it doesn’t have a good vibe. Yeah, we know, don’t judge the book by its covers, but the movie industry fails regularly. Nowdays we can almost accurately rate a movie based on a description and a trailer alone. Add a few “bad” actors to the mix and doom is imminent.

A Star Is Born

A star is born and the Lady Gaga thing. A star, yeah, right. We think this is the first attempt of Bradely Cooper as a director, and although he’s an interesting, good looking actor, with some great films/hits behind him, this was disappointing. Not sure if it’s due to script, performance or Lady Gaga.

Hereditary

Hereditary is a trippy movie, raw. Maybe a bit over the top, but not bad. If you like horrors and paranormal things, this might be ideal for you.

Mission Impossible – Fallout

Mission Impossible – Fallout, what can we say. Standard? Boring? It’s a classical Cruise thing. Nothing new with a lot of bang and a lot of bum. Holding on since 1996, like a “modern/renewed” James Bond, we can’t say anything good nor bad. It’s up to you.

First Man

First Man was an empty movie. It should’ve portrait the experience, human emotion and what not (or at least we thing they wanted that), but they’ve failed. Simply disbalanced and one of the rare movies we wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Conclusion

When it comes to the most pirated movies of 2019 list, we surely don’t agree. Aquaman, really?! The girls must have gone crazy over “Khal Drogo”, downloading any movie he’s in. The movie is far from being anything special, undeserving of such popularity. Avangers rank is “understandable”. Shazam is “interesting”. Tha “Glass” and James McAvoy’s outstanding performance. Overall, something was missing in the movie, not sure if it’s a story line issue.

Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw. We don’t really have a comment here, not deserving, but understandable. Over the years they’ve built a myth out of the Fast & Furious Series. People download anything related to them by default. Captain Marvel and Venom are standard Marvel. Having a girl in Captain marvel was somewhat refreshing (not counting Black Widow) and the storyline in Venom was not as bad (but could’ve been predicted/expected). Dark Phoenix…

If it was up to us, out of the movies we’ve seen this year, the “best pirated movies of 2019” list would look something like this (no order):

Piracy is going nowhere, but the “quality” of movies (depending on the genre) is definitely going down, deteriorating. “De gustatibus non disputandum” or no accounting for taste. Like it or not, it is what it is. Don’t forget, these are just our subjective opinions.
